Common areas which provide opportunities for students to mingle with older students
Common areas—such as our open and airy 较低的学校 library and lunchroom—provide every opportunity for students to mingle with older and younger peer groups, strengthening social and emotional skill development and leadership abilities, which in turn reduces anxiety during times of transition. -
LS instructors who are subject-area experts rather than grade-level generalists
Not only does this prepare students for the Middle and 上学校 class structure, many teachers also instruct two sequential grade levels, ensuring there is always a familiar face nearby. -
Physical spaces designed for age-appropriate growth and exploration
Classrooms from grades 1 through 4 are open, reflecting the freedom of movement of Montessori and other preschool programs. 五年级前, classes take place in large, light-filled rooms that resemble the Middle and Upper school environments. -
Twice weekly visits to the 中学 campus by 6th graders
Sixth graders are bussed to the 中学 at least twice per week for Spanish language and math classes. During these visits they also dine in the 上学校 Commons for lunch.
